A cricketer faces a life-ban due to match-fixing allegations, but with the help of his lawyer friend, he challenges the ban and manages to lift it in the end. Azhar is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language Biography Drama film starring Emraan Hashmi, Lara Dutta, Nargis Fakhri, Prachi Desai, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Gautam Gulati and Mudassar Saeed Khan. Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Networks and Indiana Films Limited. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Sony Pictures Networks. Azhar is written by Rajat Arora, Aditi Mediratta and Rajat Aroraa and it is directed by Anthony D souza and Tony D souza. Panorama Studios acquired the distribution rights for the film. Azhar was released on 13th May 2016 and takes a screen time of 130 minutes. Azhar was made on a budget of ₹40 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹30 crore. Cinematography was done by Rakesh Singh and editing by Dev Jadhav and Vipul Chouhan. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty along with Amaal Mallik, Dj Chetas and Sandeep Shirodkar.

    • A disclaimer at the start says that it is not a biopic on the life of one of the most celebrated and controversial Indian cricket captains Mohammad Azharuddin(Emraan). So the makers hoodwink you submission that it is not a biopic. But one has also to be blind, not to be able to see the similarities between Azhars life and this film. ( Read More )
