A group of chickens living on an egg farm try to escape their oppressive owners, but with the help of a rooster, they learn to fly and ultimately defeat the owners plan to turn them into meat pies. Chicken Run is a 2000 English-language Animation Adventure motion picture starring Phil Daniels, Lynn Ferguson, Mel Gibson, Tony Haygarth, Jane Horrocks, Miranda Richardson and Teresa Ganzel. Aardman Animations was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Peter Lord, David Sproxton and Nick Park. Chicken Run is written by Peter Lord, Nick Park, Karey Kirkpatrick, Mark Burton and John O farrell and it is directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park. Path Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the film. Chicken Run was released on 25th September 2000 and takes a screen time of 84 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Chicken Run was made on a budget of $45 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $224 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Karey Kirkpatrick. Cinematography was done by Dave Alex Riddett, Tristan Oliver and Frank Passingham and editing by Mark Solomon. The music was composed by John Powell along with Harry Gregson-williams.
