Eighth Grade

An entertaining 2018 Comedy Drama motion picture Eighth Grade features Elsie Fisher as the protagonists along with Josh Hamilton, Emily Robinson, Jake Ryan, and Fred Hechinger in supporting roles. The film was written and directed by newcomer Bo Burnham. The struggles an introverted 8th grader goes through during her last week in school before graduating to high school forms the essence of the film. It was produced by Scott Rudin, Eli Bush, Lila Yacoub, and Christopher Storer and distributed by A24 and Sony Pictures Andrew Wehde captured the film and was edited by Jennifer Lilly. Anna Meredith composed the music. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival under the US dramatic Competition Section on January 19, 2018, and the film was released in theatres on July 13, 2018. It has a running time of 94 minutes and was critically acclaimed when it was released. The movie was made on a budget of $2 million and collected $14.3 million at the box office. Due to the R rating is given by the Motion Picture Association of America students below a particular age were not allowed to watch the movie this was faced with a lot of criticism. Distributors arranged unrated screenings across the US as a response to the criticism.
