Survivors recount the horrific events of the 2008 terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, including the bravery of guests and staff and the eventual rescue by the Indian National Security Guards. Hotel Mumbai is a 2018 English-language Crime Drama motion picture featuring Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Tilda Cobham-hervey, Anupam Kher, Jason Isaacs and Sarika Young. The movie is inspired from 2008 Mumbai Attacks. Thunder Road Pictures in association with Arclight Films, Electric Pictures, Xeitgeist Entertainment Group and ShivHans Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Basil Iwanyk, Basil Iwanyk Sr., Gary Hamilton, Andrew Ogilvie, Jomon Thomas, Mike Gabrawy, Julie Ryan, Brian Hayes and Shivani Rawat. Hotel Mumbai is written by John Collee and directed by Anthony Maras. Bleecker Street acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Hotel Mumbai was released on 2nd May 2019 and takes a screen time of 125 minutes. Hotel Mumbai was made on a budget of $17 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $21 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Collee and Anthony Maras. Cinematography was done by Nick Remy Matthews and editing by Peter McNulty and Anthony Maras. The music was composed by Volker Bertelmann.
