During a historical period in 1739, Nader Shahs military encounters unexpected resistance from Sikh rebels, leading to a failed attempt to suppress the rebellion and an unusual decision to enlist five ordinary individuals to portray Sikh rebels, resulting in a transformative journey that challenges their preconceived notions and expands their perspective. Mastaney is a 2023 Indian Punjabi-language Action Drama motion picture featuring Tarsem Jassar, Simi Chahal, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Avtar Gill, Rahul Dev and Arif Zakaria. Vehli Janta Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Manpreet Johal. The movie is directed by Sharan Art. Omjee Cine World acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Mastaney was released on 25th August 2023 and takes a screen time of 145 minutes. The film made a box office gross of ₹69 crore. Cinematography was done by Jaype Singh.
