After her husbands death, Amelias son Sam becomes obsessed with an imaginary monster called the Babadook, leading to strange events in their house and Amelias eventual possession, but Sams love and kindness saves her and they manage to lock the Babadook in the basement, allowing them to recover and Amelia to embrace her role as a caring mother. The Babadook is a 2014 English-language Drama Horror movie starring Essie Davis, Noah Wiseman, Hayley Mcelhinney, Daniel Henshall, Barbara West, Ben Winspear and Cullen Gorman. The movie is based on Monster by Jennifer Kent. Screen Australia in association with Causeway Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kristian Moliere and Kristina Ceyton. The movie is written and directed by Jennifer Kent. Umbrella Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Babadook was released on 25th September 2014 and takes a screen time of 94 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. The Babadook was made on a budget of $2 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $7 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jennifer Kent.
