West Side Story is a 2021 American English-language Drama Romance movie starring Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana Debose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Corey Stoll and Alberto Suarez. The movie is based on West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein Arthur Laurents Stephen Sondheim Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Amblin Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kristie Macosko Krieger, Kevin Mccollum and Steven Spielberg. West Side Story is written by Tony Kushner and directed by Steven Spielberg. 20th Century Studios acquired the distribution rights for the film. West Side Story was released on 10th December 2021 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. West Side Story was made on a budget of $100 million and at the box office it grossed only $76 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Tony Kushner. Cinematography was done by Janusz Kami ski and editing by Michael Kahn and Sarah Broshar. The music was composed by Leonard Bernstein along with David Newman.
