During the Berlin Olympics in 1936, the Indian hockey team faces challenges from Germany but emerges victorious; after World War II, their assistant manager, Tapan Das, aspires to coach a team to win Indias first Olympic gold medal, facing obstacles and setbacks, but ultimately leads the team to victory in the 1948 Summer Olympics. Gold is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language Drama History film featuring Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Vineet K. Singh, Sunny Kaushal and Alam Choudry. Excel Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Gold is written by Rajesh Devraj and Reema Kagti and it is directed by Reema Kagti. AA Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Gold was released on 15th August 2018 and takes a screen time of 151 minutes. Gold was made on a budget of ₹107 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹102 crore. Cinematography was done by lvaro Guti rrez and editing by Anand Subaya. The music was composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee along with Sachin Jigar and Tanishk Bagchi.
