The movie is based on 1983 Cricket World Cup. Reliance Entertainment in association with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Vibri Media, KA Productions and Kabir Khan Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kabir Khan, Madhu Mantena Varma, Deepika Padukone, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd. 83 is written by Kabir Khan, Vasan Bala and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and it is directed by Kabir Khan. Reliance Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the movie. 83 was released on 24th December 2021 and takes a screen time of 161 minutes. 83 was made on a budget of ₹125 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹103 crore. Cinematography was done by Aseem Mishra and editing by Nitin Baid. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty along with Julius Packiam.
