In 2010, Ethiopian miners discover a valuable black opal, which is later borrowed by a gambling-addicted jewelry store owner in New York City, leading him to face numerous obstacles and eventually die after winning a significant bet. Uncut Gems is a 2019 American English-language Crime Drama motion picture starring Adam Sandler, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox, Kevin Garnett, Idina Menzel, Eric Bogosian and Jitender Sharma. A24 in association with Elara Pictures, IAC Films and Sikelia Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Scott Rudin, Sebastian Bear-mcclard and Eli Bush. Uncut Gems is written by Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie and it is directed by Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie. A24 acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Uncut Gems was released on 31st January 2020 and takes a screen time of 135 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Uncut Gems was made on a budget of $19 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $50 million. Cinematography was done by Darius Khondji and editing by Ronald Bronstein and Benny Safdie. The music was composed by Daniel Lopatin.
