Anne visits her father, Anthony, with dementia who refuses to have caregivers, and before she moves to Paris, she hires a new caregiver named Laura, but Anthony becomes increasingly confused and believes he is living in his own flat when hes really been living with Anne for years, and eventually wakes up in a nursing home and learns that Anne lives in Paris and visits occasionally. The Father is a 2020 English-language Drama Mystery film starring Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Imogen Poots, Rufus Sewell, Olivia Williams and Romulus Stoicescu. The movie is based on Le P re by Florian Zeller. The Father was Produced by David Parfitt, Jean-louis Livi, Philippe Carcassonne, Christophe Spadone and Simon Friend. The movie is directed by Florian Zeller. UGC Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. The Father was released on 15th April 2021 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. The Father was made on a budget of $6 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $24 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Florian Zeller and Christopher Hampton. Cinematography was done by Ben Smithard and editing by Yorgos Lamprinos. The music was composed by Ludovico Einaudi.
